Personal Life[]

Russell (real name Ryung) is of Korean descent, and originally lived in Portland, Oregon. At age 5, he started playing the piano. His father, Chan Woo Kwon, pushed him to excel at the piano; this eventually caused Russell to resent him.

Seven years before Stephen's arrival, Russell began to break out; sometimes he would inadvertently use telekinesis to move the piano keys. He then began using his powers to cheat at poker games, winning $30,000 from a group of rough characters. When the thugs came to his house looking to recover the money, Russell hid while the thugs broke his father's hand. Russell then left in shame.
