I thought it was unfair of Cara to take Curt's powers away. What exactly was he supposed to do? I hope that now Astrid is aware of Stephen's powers she becomes part of the adventures. If nothing else, it will teach John and Cara that not all humans want them dead.
Wow... even recognizing that this is perhaps as much fantasy as sci-fi, that level of genetic code re-writing is a bit much to swallow....
More so then humans who can teleport, do telekinesis, or stop time?
I figure it's okay as long as the technobabble sounds even vaguely plausible. :)
I think that's what it comes down to. One has to accept certain "fantastic" elements just to get into the show. So, yes, people (NOT humans, as they'll tell you to your face) who can teleport, do telekinesis, stop time, etc., because that's what the show is about in the first place.
Re-writing DNA (throughout a whole person, and not just in specific cells) to the point where one species becomes another... that crosses the line, to me. Obviously, YMMV.
Turns out that this episode was considered the best one yet (see the quotes in the article), and it may be why the CW gave it a full-season order, so we'll be getting all 22 episodes of the show! Woohoo!!
That is good to hear!
Cara was a bitch to John. He has been leading the group and keeping them safe long before Cara joined. He has more reason to be angry at her than her at him. And as for Stephen, he is a punk kid who plays this "I will do what I want" crap. Bringing him in was a mistake.
John is the only rootable one among the three of them.
An interesting take on the characters' dynamic. I would say that Cara knows she was wrong, but doesn't want to admit it and so goes on the offense. As for Stephen, he's still kind of the outsider; I expect that Russell might have been the same way, when he was first brought in.
Yay, I caught up! :D I really liked this episode, but I hated Cara. I mean, like seriously, it was all her fault. I get that she wanted to live like a human, but the things is, she isn't a human. This was really childish. She got 3 people killed. And that Kurt thing... just no. She wasted that serum on him. They could've made an antidote out of it. And I felt sorry for Kurt. I hope he comes back at some point.
and yay, Astrid finally knows the truth! I was getting tired of her not knowing shit.
How was it Cara's fault? If Kurt had just told them that he was threatened by Ultra they wouldn't have gone there. I also feel sorry for Kurt but, I get why that was done. Plus, you are assuming that she used all of the serum. We have no idea ifhtere is any left. Stephen has shown that you can live aabove ground even with his powers. Everybody saw that and they wanted to be able to do that to. Nothing childish about it.
I agree about Astrid finally knowing the truth. Maybe she will help Stephen and the other tomorrow people out.
