Merging

While it does make sense to have a "one stop shop" for all things Tomorrow People, it looks like the new series already has generated plenty of interest; I know of two other fan sites out there for it: TomorrowPeopleFans.com and TheTomorrowPeopleCW.com.

So presumably, when the new series starts airing, everyone with a site for the CW series will be recapping episodes and maintaining episodes list, and I expect the regular Wikipedia will do so as well. In light of that, I'm not so inclined to do the same work that others will be doing in parallel. But, I'll go with whatever the majority vote is.

I've said before, if you feel that your efforts are going to be wasted, I don't wish to force you to stay.

I can't stop people from starting other sites. But if we can encourage all that energy to come HERE, it means a renewed interest in all things TP. It really doesn't make any sense to suggest distinct Wikis. It's just confusing and will only serve to this site's detriment.

Shaun Hately, posting here - I've been actively involved in TP Fandom since the mid 1990s, mostly on TPDIS, but run a TP website (which will be updated to include the CW series once it actually starts broadcasting).

I can understand people wanting a separate wiki for the CW series, and separate webpages for that series - that's fine. There have been websites in the past that only cover either the 1970s or 1990s series, for example, so it's certainly perfectly legitimate to start a site only covering the CW series.

  • But* this particular wiki is designed to cover all incarnations of the show from what I can see, and it would make very little sense to me to have a wiki that covers the 1970s and 1990s series but which doesn't cover the CW series. I think the sensible choices are 'single series' or 'all series' - rather than 'more than one (but not all) of the series.

I suppose my position is that if people want to set up sites for the CW series alone, more power to them - but they can hardly expect existing sites that are dedicated to all incarnations to ignore the CW series, so the idea that CW content should not be on this Wiki just because it's on another Wiki makes no sense to me.

Kristin -

Making a separate wikia for the CW series and leaving it out of one that is covering all versions is like saying it has nothing to do with pervious series and is not part of the cannon.

But as Shaun has pointed out, this particular Wikia is designed to cover all versions of the show, not just one. Asking anyone to delete a particular section of any site just because it's already covered somplace else is a little silly. If this actually happened on the interent, it wouldn't be as large as it is now.

Wendy -

I strongly disagree that the sites should be separated. As Kristin said, putting all the CW info on one page and banning it from the other implies that the shows aren't related, and they very much are. It also prevents the ability to compare and contrast the shows on any one site, which is not only inevitable but likely going to be one of the joys of the CW series, especially for the long time fans. Furthermore, dictating what information people are allowed to include on their wikis is rude. By all means, have a wiki dedicated to the CW series, but don't act like you have some proprietary right to that info.

P.S. To the CW only person: If you're going to have a wiki for the show, please learn how to spell its name.

Since it looks like the prevailing opinion is to Disagree, i.e. to keep the CW series info on this wikia, then that's what we should do. Thanks everyone for your input!
